Unesco site "The Abbey of Fontenay" is a former Cistercian abbey located in the commune of Marmagne, near Montbard, in the département of Côte-d'Or in France. Musée du Pays Châtillonnais - Trésor de Vix can be found in Chatillion sur seine - website: http://www.musee-vix.fr/fr/index.php?page=38 The highlight of this museum is the tresor de vix specifically the vase of Vix unearthed in the iron age burial tomb of the Lady of Vix. The museum is a 25km drive from Le Soliel d'Or.
Le Soleil d'Or is the ideal place to stay if your planning on visiting vineyards; Champagne 30 mins drive (Mussey-sur-seine), the Route de Cremant (around 50% cheaper than Champagne) begins 15 mins by car (Chatillon-sur-Seine) and of course you can easily do a day trip to Beaune or Nuit-Saint-George, the route du Grands Crus (Bourgogne wines) begins around 60 mins drive south. Flavigny-sur-Ozerian is around 30 mins (small vineyard and where the film Chocolat was made).
