 New Museum "MuséoParc Alésia"; 25 bis, rue du Rochon - 21150 ALISE-SAINTE-REINE - Tél. 03 80 96 96 23  website:   http://www.alesia.com  The museum is dedicated to the history of the Gauls and the fight  between the Romans around the time of Julias Ceaser 52bc which changed the history of France.  The Museum is a 27km drive from Le Soleil d'Or.

Unesco site "The Abbey of Fontenay" is a former Cistercian abbey located in the commune of Marmagne, near Montbard, in the département of Côte-d'Or in France. It was founded by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux in 1118, and built in the Romanesque style. The abbey is around 24km from Le Soleil d'Or.  website: http://www.abbayedefontenay.com/fr/

Musée du Pays Châtillonnais - Trésor de Vix can be found in Chatillion sur seine - website:  http://www.musee-vix.fr/fr/index.php?page=38   The highlight of this museum is the tresor de vix specifically the vase of Vix unearthed in the iron age burial tomb of the Lady of  Vix.  The museum is a 25km drive from Le Soliel d'Or.

Le Soleil d'Or is the ideal place to stay if your planning on visiting vineyards; Champagne 30 mins drive (Mussey-sur-seine), the Route de Cremant (around 50% cheaper than Champagne) begins 15 mins by car (Chatillon-sur-Seine) and of course you can easily do a day trip to Beaune or Nuit-Saint-George, the route du Grands Crus (Bourgogne wines) begins around 60 mins drive south.  Flavigny-sur-Ozerian is around 30 mins (small vineyard and where the film Chocolat was made).
